I've got this swivel on my boat..

And I'm having an issue with it coming up hung up on the anchor, making it unable to pull up the anchor roller.

After I unset my anchor and start pulling it up, it comes up like this...

And it is pretty difficult to get it unstuck. I was going to try reversing the swivel but that will not work.

Any ideas?

There was a post a while back about that .....there is a added mechanism as i remember to take care of that..
i may be wrong, did you do a search????

I did but could not find anything. I found some stuff about a trip line, but not this.

This issue makes me want to go back to just a simple shackle! Its easier to straighten out the anchor as it comes up vs. trying to get the swivel unstuck.

I have the same swivel and do not have this problem. are you saying it does not come up in a straight line with the chain. If so maybe you need a little more room in the eye of the anchor.

It comes up straight just fine. The issue is the swivel is hung up on the anchor, being stuck in the same position I have show in the picture. Its like the eye of the anchor is too big...

ok got it. try taking a dremel with a small drum sander. round out the inside eye and the outer radius. that should help is roll around when comming up

Any other thoughts on this? I looked at it doesn't look like there is enough material there to try and sand some down with a dremel

I'm not saying sanding/filing is a bad idea, but care must be taken so as not to weaken either the swivel or the anchor by removing material.

Is the swivel catching on the entire anchor shank, or maybe just a corner of it? If so, just ease the corners of the shank a bit.

Or, just put a shackle between the anchor and the swivel and call it a day.
