Thanks. Might have to come check it out from the Gulf side. Always looked like a fun party.
Since there's only a handful of slips for big boats; how do they allocate them- first come?
We were getting ready to load up the boat and head down there around noon on a Friday a couple of weeks ago. Fortunately I called (at my wife's insistence) and found out the big slips had just been taken by a boating club . I had a courteous gripe session with the ranger about the inability to reserve a slip and she agreed it's a problem, but there seems to be no solution. When they allowed reservations, boaters would book them for weeks on end, "locking them up" whether they came or not. Sure wish there was a fair way to deal with the problem..
I've always wondered how MM pulls this off. It's a State Park, they no longer take reservations for slips , so how does MM get to "own" the place for the weekend at the expense of everyone else?
