Any one ever have the characters on the touch pad go out on their oven? I have just lost "most" of mine. Very frustrating to have to guess on the temp and time when only about half of the digital display is showing up. The machine still works so I hate to get rid of it. Any Ideas guys ?
(this is a Sharp Micro/Convection and we use the Convection ALL the time for baking and grilling).

If you do have to replace it.... I found a close to identical unit on Amazon.com.... I replaced mine a few months ago. (power surge killed it & a lcd tv)

thanks Mark, I called an authorized Sharp repair center and they also said power surge would kill it. New one would cost $125-150 and would take several weeks. I will try Amazon.com per your recomendation. Nearest I can tell (looking at the pictures) this is a R820. Is that what you bought? (this one has the "double grill" feature, I know my wife wants that.

Yes, that's the model (Item model number: R-820BW ).
Darn near identical fit (a couple small adjustments)
Your price, if under $150 is GREAT !! I paid $238 on Amazon.....

For the small difference in price and to have a brand new unit I'd get on Amazon (free shipping) and while you are there don't forget (if you don't have already)
Belkin SurgeMaster F9H320-CW 3-Outlet Wall-Mount Surge Protector
