battery pack recommendation......

out of curiosity i called Lake Norman Marina.... according to the marina a study done 5 yrs ago showed the clearance of the Hwy 150 bridge near their marina at full pond to be 6' 11"......the train trestle a couple miles down the lake is even lower than that...and the 'Slanting Bridge Road' bridge has one end elevated higher than the other (thus the name) so clearance is usually not a problem under the high end at full pond......so it sounds like smaller boats like my 215EC and 'can boats' may be OK in this section of the lake but larger boats can run into bridge clearance issues during high water levels....

check out the marinas JimT suggested. Kingspoint is a Morningstar marina. With them you get to use there other marinas they operate either on the lake, Skipper Landing and The Peninsula Yacht club, or any they have at the coast. Could be beneficial if you wish to trailer there. Don't you go with Mike on some of his excursions up and down the "Ditch"? Westport is also very nice. I rented a boat from them t sell my wife on the idea of having a boat. They are on the southwest side of the lake so the trip should be easier. You would drive right by it going to the place in Sherrill's Ford. Probably 20-30 quicker. The 150 bridge at finger and the railroad bridge may cause issues. Slanting Bridge Rd. will not. Check out the restaurant that is there. Best ribs around. They also have slips. Boat rack is just on the other side of the bridge. Wherever you choose, try to stay off the main lake or larger bodies of water. It gets pretty churned up during the summer. You don't want to worry about your boat banging on the dock for hours on end.
