Bighead carp caught on St. Croix River at Prescott, Wisconsin
April 21, 2011 | A bighead carp was caught Monday on the St. Croix River at Prescott, Wis., A commercial fisherman caught the 27-pound bighead just north of the St. Croix's confluence with the Mississippi River and contacted the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources.

Like I said before, With the way thoise things jump, Looks like I'll be wearing my Packer helmet on my dinghy on Lake Michigan! Mike

Why dont the big heads like cheese?

The bighead carp is an invasive species but is not of the jumping kind. That would be the Asian carp and yes they are threatening the Upper Mississippi River basin, its tributaries and the Great Lakes. Let's hope somebody figures out a way to stop them.

I live on the St Croix just north of Prescott. Did you see the picture of that fish? He is one UGLY dude. Hope that they find a way to limit him in the St Croix - the article in the Mpls Star Tribune noted that in some of the rivers that they have invaded, they make take over to the tune of 70% or more of all the fish.

That is one ugly fish. Sushi anyone?
