Since last week my stb engine is giving a lot of blue smoke.
(Also hot)
After opening the airfilter we noticed that there was hardly flow into the turbo compared with the other engine and the intercooler seemed totaly full with oil.
After cleaning the intercooler the blue smoke is not disappeared. The engine also make a punching noise in the rythm of the engine. Valves are checked and ok.
Thursday we check engine compression but i am affraid that the turbo is damaged.
Does anybody have experience with this situation?

Your engine fumes disposal is most likely routed to your air filter and it will plug it eventually. The filter requires routine maintenance.

The after cooler also eventually gets plugged from fumes and also requires routine maintenance.

I believe: "The engine also make a punching noise in the rhythm of the engine." is where you may have a problem.... With the air filter off, start the engine up and rap the throttle a few times. Compare this test to her sister and let us know what you hear from the intake...

Also one more test. With the engine not running Pull the air inlet hose to the turbo, reach in and feel how the compressor wheel spins. Pull in/out and side/side while turning. You do not want to feel any binding or scraping...

I did the test with the airfilter off, the port engine is not making the punching noise. It comes from the inlet and there is no fibration in the engine which causes this sound.
I will test the turbo on thursday and will come back on this.

Thanks!!!!

"Punching"... We call it "Popping".

If your Punching/Popping up through the intake. then you've most likely blown a head gasket. Next you need to figure out which side. Will you be doing the work your self?
