Hello everyone, 1st time on the forum. Bought a 2002 182 BR, w/4.3. Love it! Couple of questions;
1. Drivers seat too low, does anyone have ideas on how to raise the seat? Maybe you fabbed up something yourself, or know of an after market seat booster. Right now i stack orange life preservers, a little tacky!
2. I'm wondering if my engine is running a little hot, maybe the water pump impeller needs to be replaced. The temp neddle sits at about 170, about 1 O'clock. I don't know, I thought maybe the norm was 12 O' Clock, straight up. The high temp alarm has never gone off, I just don't won't to hurt the engine. And is the job attainable for a shade tree mechanic. I replaced one on a 40 horse merc. Thanks for your input!

Is your seat on a pedestal ? or mounted flush to the cockpit? If it is on a pedestal, you could get an aftermarket adjustable pedestal, and mount it to your current seat. If it's stationary, I would just put a white throw cushion on it, looks better than orange.

170 should be fine for your temp. The o'clock position of the guage is not critical, only the actual running temp. You should be able to replace the impeller yourself, when it is time. It is not too difficult.

You may want to check ebay for when a bolster seat becomes available. You may come across a deal.

My 205 Sport's temp is always 170.
