Ok am I losing my mind ? My friend just bought a '94 Sea Ray 240 BR. I went over tonight to help troubleshoot inoperative trim tabs. this is his first boat and I was showing him some maintenance stuff. I started to show him how to drain and refill the outdrive (it's a bravo 1 ). I pointed out the vent screw and then proceeded for 5 minutes to try and locate the drain screw....not there....layed on my back in the gravel...no screw. where the hell is the drain screw ? My last boat had alpha 1 - screw on the bottom...current boat has a Bravo 2 - screw on the bottom.

mmmm...I looked in my manual and it shows it on the bullet...like the alpha 1 and the bravo 2...are there different generations ?

I was helping a friend at the marina with zincs and the gear oil change. We went crazy looking for the drain screw. When he pulled the prop to change the zinc behind the prop, the drain screw was right there below the prop shaft.

Here is a pic...

wow....that says bravo 1 & 2...my bravo 2 is on the bullet....thanks for the link !

Dont forget to change both little blue gaskets....one on the drain screw and one on the vent screw. Do this everytime you take one of those screws out.....and always take a flat screw driver and scrape all the old gasket parts off the male and female parts.....they like to break apart and stick.
