my frig on the 2005 390 sundancer quit keeping cold today. it runs but not cold enough. any ideas?

i pulled the fridge out and the fan is not spinning. norcold said to take it to marinemax. i see a plug that i could pull. however, there is some conduit wire also. not sure how to disconnect that so i could take it to the shop. any ideas on how i could fix it myself?

i ended up just pulling the fan and taking it to a local RV supplies dealer and ordered a new fan for $48. will be plugging it in on Thursday and will let everyone know what happens.

it turned out not to be the fan. i pulled the fridge out and took it to an RV dealer and the electrical connections were corroded. all is well now except i had to eat the $48 fan.

Glad you were able to repair it. I need to pull mine as well as it only runs on DC power even when shore power is available. Strange...

Even though we were not of much (any) help, thanks for the updates as I'm sure it will come in handy for someone else down the road. :smt001

Earlier, you ahd said you were not sure how to pull it out, but you ended up getting it out OK. What did you have to do to finally get it out? I appreciate your updates on the problem and the fix!

getting the cockpit fridge out was easy. there are two screws on each side holding the fridge to the boat cabinet. you will need to open the fridge door to get at the screws behind the fridge door hinges. then there are straps wrapped around the fridge that allow you to pick up the fridge by the straps on top of the fridge and pull the fridge out. you can then disconnect the plug inside the cabinet and pull the two electrical connectors on top of the fridge. you should be good to go from there. i put the fridge on a cart and placed it in my car and took it to an RV dealer. hope this helps.

Before you go through the effort of pulling it out, did you check all of your GFI breakers? I had the same problem with mine last season, as it turned out the cabinet right next to the fridge has a 110 VAC GFI outlet, it was tripped and the fridge ac power came from it.

Thanks hack4alivin the GFI was not tripped so that was not the issue.
