the new boat(weekender 215) with 20hrs on it died while underway. i was doing 3000rpm. and she just died. the trim still works and so does the bilge pump(wired directly to battery). when
i turn batter switch i get nothing. i checked the 50amp fuse on top of engine and was fine. i can't find inline fuse from batteries to switch. any help would be nice

Do you have a lanyard on the helm? If so, is it in place? Possible that it wasn't snapped in place or hit with something and it just came loose enough to give you a problem.

You need to provide some more details on the boat motor.

What year of the Weekender

Carberated - Fuel injected

Smart Craft or not

Details, details, details.

Folks if you want technical help you have to provide technical details.

This happened to me once, was anchored, neice saw the pretty dangly thing messed with it, it looked like it was in place but wasn't. Scared the crap out of me.

I see it every weekend :smt101

I am 40' from the town launch where I dock. It is amazing how many people put a boat / waverunner in and crank away for sometimes 10 minutes, then realize the lanyard is still dangling from their wrist, life vest (if they even have one on).

To the original post, try to move the shifter around a bit and see if it will crank over. Sometimes they will come out of adjustment on the neutral safety.

had russo marine down, after the power leaves the battery switch
it runs to the motor. there are 2 fuses to look for on my year and model. the 50 amp on top of the motor and the 15 amp that runs up to the start switch and ass. panel. it was the 15 amp fuse, even the tech said it was a poor design. so were back in service :smt038 for those that asked. 2006 215 weekender with a 5.0 merc alpha drive

Good to hear it was a cheap fix.

BUT... What caused the fuse to pop?
