Have an eight foot west marine inflatable that I want to mount on my 05 260 da. Have intergrated swim platform so installation of dinghy hooks is problematic I think. Was thinking of lashing to foredeck or to transom.

Also have a 6hp outboard. How should I transport that?

Thanks for the help.

I used to "lash" my 8'6" zodiac to the foredeck of my 280 - worked great - But I reccomend the weaver davits - they will build you a set with offset "arms" to get them closer to the water (a lot of guys with 340s use these) as for the motor I use a st. croix bracket (weaver makes one too) that mounts on the swim platform - it is easy to install the motor on the dinghy with it still "clipped" to the swim platform - this system works great for me - the 8' dinghy may "hang over" the sides of your 260 because you probably do not have full beam all the way back - this is usually not a problem.

I made a set of (DOM"S DINGHY DAVIT'S) works great and we leave the 8hp on it! total cost of under $200

Here is my method. I just rope off to port & starboard cleat....might work for you if your platform is deep enough.

Is your OB a 2-stroke or 4?

My 8 hp 4-stroke weighs around 85 pounds... there's no way to safely transfer the motor to and from the dinghy's transom while on the water. One errant wake or slip and it becomes a $2,000 anchor.

I have a set of St. Croix rotating davits on the platform and transport with the motor installed.
