Dress up your hose clamps with Clamp Jackets

My ER has them all over the place (red in color). Here I thought it was a diesel thing. :smt043:smt043

Yeah, Sea Ray left me a ton of extras. I think I found more loose ones in the bilge, under seat cushions, and in every nook and cranny than I have clamps on the boat.

I have two special peeves about finish in boats, all boats. Its hose clamp tails that are installed with a mean open hook sitting proud to cut, snare, slice, gouge and otherweise ruin a nice afternoon in the bilge and the second is wire ties improperly cut tails. These wire ties cut on a bias leave little nubs create sharp spears that are wicked. Just try working in your electronics cabinet with out coming out looking like you've been in a fight with a cat in the shower.

Use clamp terminals and snip off those wire ties neat and flat to the lock!

I think these are a good idea honestly.

When I was with the surveryor on my boat, he had me crawl in the bilge to check something out. While I was contoring to get into the correct position, I cut my shin really bad on a hose clamp. I didn't even know it at first, but the trail of blood from the ER, up the bilge, on the deck, and finally onto the vinyl made me realize something wasn't right.

Ever since then, I take extra precaution when I'm crawling around. These might help mitigate the issue.

Mine came with plain black ones. If I lost them would I buy new ones if they were more than a dollar? Probably not. Do they save me from gallons of lost blood when Im not looking? Probably.
