I swear there has been some threads on this in the past, but searching has gotten me nowhere, so Ill try this. My peanut pad has started failing, the ER blower switch quitting last season was the final straw. So before this next summer I would like to do the EIM replacement.
Is the FP the way to go? What color would you do if it were yours? Go back with the Cherry Burl, or one of the other colors? My wife will probably have the final say, but I thought I would see what the opinions are here?

I think there is now another system out there besides flounder. I‘ll need to search for it.

If you're comfortable with the wiring part, New Wire Marine can make a panel for you to your specs. They can precut for switches or even "load" the panel with switches ahead of time.

Colors are purley your choice, of course. Sky's the limit - you could even use spray paint. The trick is (other than prep, of course) to first use a a couple coats of paint for plastic - then you can use any color you want, even if the paint isn't specifically meant for plastic. When I painted my faded panels I used a black, slightly textured, paint that had a "very" slight multi-color speckle - it wasn't overly obvious - just enough to set it off in the right light/sun. That's not to say YOU should do this - just that you might be able to come up with something that you like even more.

Wiring would be no problem for me, now painting something and having it turn out acceptable, that is outside my wheel house

You might be surprised - this is actually a pretty easy project :) Scuff it up/light sand - paint - done. When I did it, I figured the worst case was that I would revert back to buying a panel.

Although, this would really only be something you would do for the gauge panel - otherwise you lose the labelling/backlighting on the switch panel. But that's what I did - I did the gauge panel and left my lower panels burl. I had noticed that some of the newer Sea Rays (at the time) used two different colors for the upper and lower panels and (I thought) it looked good.
