Silly question but are both your motors running?IS THIS A COMMON ISSUE THAT OTHERS HAVE HAD WITH PODS?
Yes both engines are running, I was told but not confirmed that in 2017 this was a known problem and changes were made. I have never ignored the warning alert and operated the boat. this started two years ago. Still a mystery for me.Silly question but are both your motors running?
I thought the stbd key first was to clear any errors, not always a hard and fast rule...I had this End Stop and other steering issues for several seasons. After connecting a G3 and running a Live Report that I shared with Mercury, they condemned the steering motor. Problem solved? For a while. Alarms came back and I discovered the the stbd Drive Position Sensor (on the pod) had some water in it and was confusing the Can Bus data lines. Problem solved? For a while. End Stop alarms came back this season. They were going off at totally random moments like when the boat was going dead straight in Auto Heading mode. I was able to trace the issue to a loose connection at the stbd CCM using the 'wiggle' test. Summary: This alarm is hard to pin down. Pay attention as to when it occurs and note ALL variables at the time. When it does occur, does it clear or is the alarm 'sticky' and stays on the screen. If sticky, once you shutdown and restart, does it clear? Does it recur again afterwards? A Zeus tech onboard with a G3 running a Live Report to capture the alarm when it goes off is very helpful. BTW, does your steering wheel center with key on? If no, steering motor is suspect. Do you always turn on the stbd key first as you are supposed to?
