I have searched and read most of the threads regarding replacement exhaust manifolds, 3" spacers and elbows. There were a few with suggestions on where to purchase, perfprotech, boat fix and marine engine parts. I have decided to use Merc OEM replacement. Can anyone suggest any other options on where to buy? It seems that $2800 for complete kits for two 1997 7.4L is the norm, and $2500 is the best price through boat fix - but I dont know what the shipping will cost. Does anyone have experience with best prices elsewhere?

boat fix will treat you well on both prices and shipping. I don't have any other suggestions other than the places you mentioned. I got my last set of Merc. manifolds from boat fix.

Hey Russ,I am presently replacing my manlfolds on my 350 twins and decided to go with stanless steel from Hy-tec.They cost a little more but I may be never replacing them again.

i just replaced 3" block and risers manifolds were ok. Cost me 1500.00 for factory merc. ceramic

So you just replaced the spacers and the elbows on both motors? How old were they? The manifolds were ok - how could you tell? Did you have to clean them up? And where did you buy the parts?

Thanks for the response

I have 2 pairs of center rise, w/ 3" spacers off of a low hour burn victim, for 454's if you are interested. eric 330-273-8291 or 330-322-8817
they are very clean..

How much does stainless steel exhausts cost???

I have a bolt I can't get out my manifold... I broke three drill bits so far trying to drill it out... Has anyone used a slege hammer to break their cast iron manifolds? I heard this is a way to get old manifolds off...

Eric can tell you a story abt sledge hammer and manifold. I had to cut one head of a manifold bolt and used a dremel and separating disk. Worked nicely and took about 5 minutes, 2 disks and lotsa sparks. The disks are available at HD and are about $20 for a stack. Much more atraumatic than a sledge hammer.

I bought all my parts for my manifold/elbow replacement job from boat fix. Best prices around on Merc OEM parts and crazy low priced UPS shipping. All 270 lbs of stuff came from NH to NJ in 36 hours for $21.
