Hi,
the refit of the cockpit area of my ´88 460EC is nearly ready but I have real troubles with the faria tachs I bought.
I ordered Faria Chesapeak white SS tachs which I got advise from the forum here that they would work with my CAT3208TA engines without any hassle.
Nearly ;-)
If I do the math the tachs wants from me and multiply by 3 which as far as I know is the correct number of poles in the alternator I do not get any correct readings.
The port engine starts to show revs on the tach at approx. 1000upm and the starboard engine does´t show anything on the tach below approx. 1300upm (only approx because I haven´t fine calibrated the tachs yet because of the general incorrect reading)
Has anybody had the same problem or have an idea where the problem may be found?
I replaced the original Teleflex-instruments with the Farias in case this helps.
regards,
Raoul
