Gas gauge problem

My gas gauge only works from ¼ to ¾ reading. Ware is, and how do I access the sending unit in my fuel tank to see if it is sticking? I have a 1977 SRV HT. Thanks…..:huh:

The sending unit will be installed in the top of the tank. I don't know where your tank is located but it may be located in the cockpit, on the centerline under a long rectangular hatch. Boat gas gages are notoriously inaccurate. Get youself a fuel flow meter, they install in the fuel line to the carb and will tell you fuel burn rate, total fuel burned and fuel remaining. The Northstar units are simple to install and operate and fit in a standard gage hole in the dash. Cost isn't bad at around $100.
