I've just read through posts in this forum going quite a ways back and I see lots of advice on polishes. I'm a new owner of a 2003 260DA and am wondering what people use to wash the boat in between polishes? Are there recommended products that should be used to help protect and not strip the polishes?

I use WM boat wash soap and a soft bristle brush. Our marina is out ot the city with farmland arond and when they plow and the winds are up it deposits a lot of dirt on the boats even though our slip is covered.

I use the same. Soft brush below the rail, bath towel above. Even under our covered slip springtime pollen and of course spider evidence can be nasty.

I switched to Meguiar's Gel Wash this year and love it. It cleans really well and leaves a nice shine. I use a medium bristle on the non-skid and Flexiteek and soft bristle on the sides. I used to use West Marine's wash but I have to say that I do not like their branded products. They all seem weak to me.

Try the Meguiar's -- it's great.

Just use any name brand wash&wax and towel dry the entire boat from the rubrail up. I will occasionally use wax&dry as a quick wax touch up. Dumb as it sounds the towel drying seems like it helps keep everything slick and shiny!?

i was going to go with the mequire's stuff as i've good luck with their products on cars but was at wal-mart the other day and decided to pick up the seasence boat wash as it was pretty cheap. i washed and dried the boat saturday and was actually very impressed with the shine it put on my old boat.
