I have a 2000 380 DA with 454 7.4 gen VI engines with 330 hr. The port motor has low oil presure and oil in the closed cooling system. Compresion was 130 to 135 in all cylinders except for #5 which was 110. The mechanice is trying to pull the port side head but the head will not come off. All bolts have been removed, does the air intake manifold need to come off? Any other reasons why we are having trouble?

JK,

The last time I took heads of off a V8 engine, the intake manifold definitely needed to come off! Your mechanic should have known that!

Any guy that is trying to pull a head of a V8 without removing the intake first is not a mechanic, he is a moron.

Wow, are you serious? He didn't know to pull the intake manifold?

Takes all kinds!

I think now is a good time to get your boat back.... and take it to someone else...

What Jon said. Take you boat away from the boob who is about to butcher the engine.

If your boat or engine is screwed up after the service, don't come here whining that you didn't know.
