I don't want to stencil and spray paint on the registration numbers, and the adhesive vinyl cut lettering does not want to stick to the PVC surface. Any suggestions on how to affix them??

thanks

In the thread that Wesley posted above, you will note that SeaGull used boatnumberplate.com. I also used them for my dink and I'm very satisfied with the look. Back then, they were quite expensive.....~$100 with the glue. Now, however, Westmarine is a reseller of the product and I believe I just saw them in this week circular for $49.....I'm not sure if that included the glue....

for about 12 bucks you can buy a set of registration plastic plates, predrilled for uv protected cable ties. Affix your numbers there, latch it onto the grab lines. it works for me.

sounds perfect.. I didn't want to permanently glue anything to the boat, but something I can zip tie is great! Does West Marine sell the plates?

Exactly what I did. I went thru www.mcmaster.com and ordered a 4" x 4' piece of off white plastic, 1/8" thick. I can take a pic when I get home and post it.

Here is how mine came out... I still have to make the holes for the tie wraps, I am also going to round over all the edges and corners.

I used magic marker works great hate the boards and letters never stick

I tried the boards but hated when the wind would flip them back inside the boat. (Girlfriend hated it too) Last year I bought the vinyl letters and stuck them right on the boat. At first they looked great and appeared to be sticking well. After a couple weeks in the sun air bubbles started forming in the letters and now they kinda look like crap. They are however still sticking and not lifting anywhere so I'm leaving them alone. I'm wondering how the giant air bubbles formed after they were applied soo smooth? Maybe the material actually breathes?
