Hello all. Thank-you for reading my post and replying.

We are heading to Muskegon State Park and camping for a week in July. We plan on keeping the boat on Muskegon Lake and maybe taking her out on the big lake only if it is calm. I realize that the lake can change in a hurry.

Some friends are staying in Grand Haven/Spring Lake during the same time and I was wondering how far it is by boat? They are staying on Spring Lake so please add that in to the equation. Say traveling at 30 MPH, how long would it take us? I'm guessing that it is 20 to 30 miles to the middle of Spring Lake. I'm not stupid(Captain disagrees) , so I would not risk it unless it is a beautiful calm day. She is a Deep V, 24 footer with a 70 gallon gas tank.

OK you won't go 30 mph on the Lake Michigan, unless you like the Air....so it's going to take you about 30-45 minutes to Grand Haven via Water, 10 minutes Via Land...and that's the story I'm sticking too, done that travel a lot by sea and by land...Take it at about 20 mph and you'll be fine.

It's 22 nautical miles from the Muskegon light to the Grand Haven light.

You have a long No-Wake zone ride up the Grand River and first part of Spring Lake. I would say that will add 30-40 minutes to your calculation.

I was wrong on the distance. It's actually 13 miles from GH to Muskegon. I was thinking Holland vs. Muskegon.
