How to visit South Seas Resort on Sanibel Island

Sanibel had enough trouble holding on the beaches anyway. They used to dredge often when I was younger to deposit sand on the beaches.

We had Chattanooga Yacht Club friends moving their new 70' Hatteras from Ft. Liquordale to Chattanooga stop at Pink Shell in January. When we visited them for dinner, we could not believe the damage at Ft. Myers Beach 15 months after the hurricane - it looked like Beirut Lebanon after the bombings!

Your right. Ft.Myers Beach has come a long way but has a long way to go.
Fair amount of restaurants are now open. Pink Shell Marina is coming along nicely. Been there twice over the last month.

Perhaps there's enough brave ClubSeaRay souls in the area to support a rendezvous?

The problem would be a suitable marina after Hurricane Ian.

Perhaps an overnight at Cayo Costa?

Pelican Bay is our favorite anchorage. And nights like the last few would have been fantastic with no genny running over night for the AC. It will be getting toasty in a month or so.
A few marinas are up and running. Pink Shell, Tween Waters, Fishermans Village, Palm Island and a few others. Problem is getting in, as they are booked up!
 
Perhaps we should consider a new thread to discuss this possibility.

Was at TWEEN WATERS Friday night, hadn't been there since 2006. It's up and running and nice.

Did Cabbage Key Saturday night, but that's not an option for a get-together as overnighters for more than one night must leave at 11 am and not return till 4 PM to allow room for the day trippers.

While summer's heat is on it's way, so are the snowbirds who will be departing, leaving us more space in marinas and anchorages alike.

If we chose an anchorage, rafting up or dinghies would be the prime methods to coordinate get togethers.

If it's warm we run the diesel genny 24/7 for the fridges, icemaker and of course the HVAC.

I wonder if we could scare up 10, 15 or maybe 20 boats for this?
