Hello guys, this is my first post. I hope you can help me.

I have a 2004 Wellcraft Coastal 290. it factory comes with a Kohler 5E Gen. For some reason the drains holes was not working OK on the compartment were the Gen goes and its look like the under part of the Gen was getting wet.

I find out this like 2 week ago when I started the Gen and it only work for around a minute and then turn off.

When I open the Gen compartment is was full of oil inside.
Its look like the oil presure sensor shut the engine because was out of oil.

So after finished using the boat, I put new oil to the Gen and start it to see were the oil was getting out. To my surprise I found a rusted hole in the oil filter.

Its look like since the drains holes was not working OK on the compartment were the Gen goes the filter was getting wet and get rusted making a hole in it.

So with a new oil filter and new oil, I started the Gen and is working OK.

This last sunday I took out the boat and when I try to start the Gen it wont crank :smt013 it only make click, click but it not turn over. I thing is the solenoid making that noise but I am not sure.

So the only thing thats come to my mind is that the same water damage the starter or solenoid BUT I just want to hear from you people what other thing you recomend or advice to check.

I also have to check why the drain holes are covered and not working OK.

Thank you for your time and help,

Isaac
