Kohler 5e problem

When you press the start button, all of the sensors are bypassed allowing the generator to run. When you release the start button, the sensors are back on line. if it does not continue to run, then one or more of the sensors are open. Manually bypass each of the sensors one by one to find out which one is defective or use an ohm meter to check each sensor for continuity. Have you checked the oil level? There is probably a low oil level sensor as well as a hi temp sensor. A bad impeller will result in high temp and not allow the genny to keep running.

First check is excitation capacitor I believe.

Ive got the same issue, and I've just ordered all control boards + excitation capacitor from US.

What is the "excitation capacitor" and what was the cost of the boards and this capacitor and who did you order them from?

thanks
