Have 2007 Sundancer 40 with QSB 5.9. Last week was either hit by lightning or had power surge from storm. Engines turn over but will not start. Getting error codes on both engines. Battery charger is also blown. Replaced charger but still getting error codes. Any ideas? Please see attached photos. Thanks

I hope you already called your insurance company.

Then get a professional to diagnose. I bet both engine ecu's are fried.

How is the 120v side of the boat?

Look for pin hole damage to the hull as well.

Oh, I know all too well, Engage your insurance company first then have expert evaluations done for each part of the boat. Accounting and chronological documentation of the effort and work is essential to eliminate any questions or challenges by the insurance company. All invoices and this summary sheet is what was submitted to the Ins Co. This is my accounting sheet - note some items were normal maintenance and upgrades that were not passed on for the claim

I was struck by lightening many years ago. It blew out all the electronics, destroyed the gauges on the upper and lower helms and burned up the entire wiring harness that ran to both helms. Also ripped my upper bimini from the area where it fastened to the frame.

Total cost to repair everything ran a bit north of $50K. Insurance covered all.
