local to me story of ice trapped boater

Sir, You stated in your first post, "the article" -- I do not consider anyone's post on CSR an article, therefore I was referring strictly to the newspaper in which there was no quote about pity. In any event, I would not quote anyone who went to see him. I was not there and would not want to mis-quote anyone. Thanks for caring and sharing.

Ali....WHAT! The article did say he didn't want pity. Why would you not quote anyone who actually went to see him? Doug is the one that started this thread. If anyone has an idea of what Jeff is going through it's Doug (Presentation) On that note and reading the following article it has become clear that he does feel good about people helping him with things like wood, gas, and clothes. Not so much money. It also said that 200 people have come by since Sat including a couple of car loads of teenagers. It has become clear that the circus has started. If you want to truly help, buy him a motor for his boat.

By the way....Ali, did you click on page # 2 of that article? :smt043Side note...you have a beautiful SR. :thumbsup:I love those classic lines. Do you have anymore pictures? It seems you took really good care of it. Was the canvas redone recently?. And...I think I like being called "Sir Bridog" :)

Sir Bridog~ You are being very argumentative and I suggest that you just admit that I am right. Per page 2 of the news article #1 ~ (no quotes!) Jacobs does not want pity. Houseboat living isn't half bad. Until you've lived on the water in a houseboat you don't know the beauty of it. The tranquility of the water can lull you to sleep. In a boat you see the best of what nature can offer, up close, he said. (end)~~ Journalisticly speaking, the reporter was speaking his own mind. OF course he doesn't want pity!
No one wants pity, do they? But, they will welcome help.
What ever.
He doesn't need a new motor he may need batteries or a freeze up plug or a tow to the other marina that was mentioned. The man seems very nice and has certainly fallen on hard times.
But, again, he has a good attitude, is happy to meet all these people (the circus as you call it) ~ Let me use Michael Jackson here and say, Heal the World, make it a better place... for you and for me and the entire human race. {are you singing along?? I am!) lol. Oh, and here is another good song that fits this situation in regards to helping others... I'm looking at the man in the mirror, I'm asking him to change his ways, if you want to make the world a better place take a look at yourself and changeeeeeeeeee! I hope this helps you.
Peace,
Ali
We do have other boat pics on the site in an album - but how one gets to them is beyond me.

Bridog - forgiven.
the video? um, :smt038 very funny response.
unless you're a catholic... ;)
Let's stick with boats, shall we? Yes.

So, yours is in shrink wrap, mine is up on a lift undercover and I believe this post was started about a man on a houseboat.
Hope he is doing okay!
