Hello all,

I have a 2004 260DA. it also has a generator.
Last Sunday, I realized that my Guest Charge pro dual charger had no power lights on it, thus the battery were low enough to trigger the smartcraft warning while underway.
Further review revealed the inline fuse to battery one (15A) blown. Fuse 2 (25A) was fine. Replaced the fuse.
Clearly that didn't fix the charger.
There is no breaker on the panel to reset the AC power connectivity to the Charger.

The boat has been slipped this year and left connected to dock power to keep the batteries up and AC running.
When we let the boat Sunday all was operating normally except the charger.
Tuesday when I returned to properly diagnose the charger, I found NO AC at the power panel...boat completely dead. Power light on panel off.

Established that the 30A power to the boat was still present on the power cord. Replaced the cord and tried other shore power available at the docks to rule inlet power out. Disconnected power to the Guest Charger to rule it out. tried cycling the main breaker as well. Nothing.

Found the correct wiring diagram (I hope and believe) online for my boat to learn that the only thing between the inlet plug and the powerpanel was the 30A main breaker.

Decided to fire up the generator to isolate it. Low and behold, once it was running, I had a power light back on the panel and with the generator breaker switched ON I have power back onboard!!

I have since ordered and received a replacement Paneltronics 30A magnetic main breaker. The plan is to replace it as I have no other place to go at this time. IT looks to be a royal pain to get this apart due to how the panel in the transom trunk is built....as it includes the water inlet and a fresh water outlet.

Questions:

1. Has anyone else had this issue?
2. Is it likely that the breaker took a surge and failed? Is there another place I should be looking?
3. Is there a service loop so I can get enough slack to pull out the breaker enough to change it without having to dissect the water lines?
4. why did the power to the charger fail first and is there a breaker or fuse I am missing.

Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Chris
