Lowrance HDS-5 Gen 2

Well just pulled the trigger on a new Lowrance HDS-5 Gen 2 LakeInsight from Jim at BOE Marine. Great price on the unit and free shipping. Can't wait to get it installed. Anyone have any tips for operation? Thanks.

you will definitely like the unit
I have an hds 7 gen 1 and and hds 8 gen 2 .
go over to thehulltruth.com marine electronics forum for tips on operation. If you fish I might also suggest that you add a structure scan to the unit, it is a great tool for finding structure

I had an HDS-5 and it was a sweet little unit. I upgraded to an HDS-10 on the bridge so I moved the HDS-7 to the lower station and sold my HDS-5 to a buddy. He is using it to track fuel consumption on is 48' Cheoy-Lee.... its a very versatile unit.
