What is the best way to check the fluid levels in my batteries? When do I know it is time to add distilled water and what is the best way to do so?

Carefully pop the caps off with a screwdriver. The fluid level should be touching, or slightly above the bottom of the tube/hole you're looking into. Typically, this is about an inch down from the top of the battery. What you're after here is to make sure the fluid is completely covering the top of the plates. You'll be able to see them when you look in the hole.

Carefully and slowly add distilled water directly into the hole to get the fluid to the proper level. A small funnel or a small pouring container works much better than trying to pour the water out of the jug.

I just purchased one these on the advice of my Dad. He has used it on his golf cart and said it will ensure you don't over-fill your batteries. My two port side batteries are difficult to reach and see the levels. This should resolve that issue!

I think you should ask the new member Happy Times....I'll bet he has the answer.

Heck Uplate...why get it on Amazon for $8 when you can get it at Napa for $21. Ask me how I know!

Ha- I posted the link as to what the device is and does. I actually bought mine at a local parts store for about the same as yourself!

Amazon does offer some great deals on all sorts of things. I was in a hurry to top off my batteries while I had the hatches off.
