Hello, all of you left coasters!
With fuel on the rise again, here in western Oregon, we have decided to move the boat to the coast and put her in a secure storage. This way we can just drive over, launch, and have our fun. Why not a slip? I've seen the build up on the bottoms after just two weeks in the bay. So bad, drives needed to be completely stripped and resurfaced. Plus the docks are not that secured around the bay.
So making the drive over to Yaquina Bay, Newport on Thursday afternoon or Friday morning. The mile from the dry storage to the ramp will be a huge savings over there and back each trip. Plus we can buy fuel off the water instead of the inflated price at the dock. $5.36 here at the house for clear fuel, verses the $7.xx on the dock. Hell, 100NL at the airport is less than that.
Any other members from Newport or have their boats there?
John
