I was about to pull the trigger on purchasing Nautley davits (HD+ Roll-On Extended #HDR402) for my 2002 310 Sundancer, and after final confirmation of all my specs with Nautley, they stated they were concerned about the length of the dinghy as compared to the beam of the boat.
Specifically, they said, "The main concern about your application is that the tender is too large for the yacht’s beam. The tender needs to be 2ft shorter than the yacht’s beam to prevent the tender from being hit with side waves. Note that when the motor is tilted up your tender will have an overall length of 11 - 12 ft. Tender should not be over 9’ 2” based on your Sea Ray’s beam."
The LOA on my dinghy is 10' 2", a foot longer than recommended. The beam on my 310 is 11' 2". I'm not sure how much of an issue this really is. I am trying to find anyone out there that has installed Nautley davits on a 1998-2008 310.
