my 340 have the sink grey water flow directly overboard. can I just add a Y/T-valve and connect to holding tank? By drilling and attaching to holding tank, would I still have suction to then pump out or does this system need to be closed. I might have to do the same with the toilet. Thanks for the advice.

Need a little more info here...add it to your signature. What year, model, etc. Your holding tank, if it is a Sealand, is a closed system that keeps a vacuum on it. On any lake I know of, your gray water can flow overboard.

The boat is a 2000 Sea ray 340. Lake will not allow any grey water to go overboard. I don't know the name of the holding tank, but could take a look to see if I can find out.

OK, it can be done, but I suggest you do a little research before you take this on....you are going to be putting gray water in this lake unless you basically re-plumb the boat. For example, the condensate drains from your A/C and shower go into a sump in the forward bilge that has a float switch in it, then gets pumped overboard. Also anything that makes it into the ER bilge area is going to get pumped out as well. Beit water, or anything else, God forbid. Also, don;'t forget the head sink, and the wet bar in the cockpit. So, what I'm saying here is recheck the reg on the lake. This sounds totally unreasonable to me. If it's true, ask other boaters how they deal with it, and start shopping for a barge to tow behind your boat.

We boat in Lake George NY and are under the same rules. No grey water allowed and Southpaw is correct. It requires a whole replumb of your system. We had ours redone in September 2008 and the cost was $ 1,100.00. All in all given water quality issues I think this is a great rule ! It does increase the number of pump outs though so be sure to join Boat U.S. because it is free at their locations.
