I just wanted to say hello from New England! I finally have my own boat after a year of searching and 10 years of using other people's. I'm taking delivery of my new 270 Amberjack today so i hope to see the locals out on the water. I hail out of Boston. I'll post pics of the new baby once i take some today. Got to love taking delivery with T-storms in the forecast... yikes.

Welcome and congratulations on the new boat!

Welcome aboard from former Western Mass folks living now in Charleston, SC...and most importantly.....go Red Sox....

Thanks all!

We slept on her Friday night and managed to wake up at 5am for a jaunt out to Stellwagen and Jeffrie's Ledge. Fishing was weak but we did manage to see 3 Right whales @ Stellwagen. The boat handled 2-3ft seas with no problem. The occasional pounding into head winds but bearing off 30 deg fixed that. Ran near 3800rpms for several hours and cruised the harbor for most of the day chewing up 11.8hrs and 59 gallons of fuel. Not bad. I did manage to foul a line on a mooring line at Peddocks Island while making a Y off the two front bow cleats, but was able to free it after a swim (crappy).

See you out there!

From one N00B to another welcome. Much may be learned here, grasshopper

Congrats! I borrowed my friends SR 230 Weekender on Sat. and took the wife out for a short cruise. Ended up going out to Cuttyhunk and back. She was psyched to find out how close the islands really were, and wants a boat even more now. *the plan is working*

Hope you didnt get too much rain on Monday, the southcoast got soaked. I heard a few boats were lost in Padnaram harbor.

Nice JoeA!

I'm sure you can talk her into it! I've been wanting to get down to Cuddyhunk and the cape. That might be next weekend if we can pull it together.

Congrats on the new boat. 27 Ft Amberjack, sweet boat. Thinking that may be my next one next year, so, will have some questions over the next several months. Welcome to the board!!

I love it so far. Let me know if you have any questions. It's a good balance of stable boat, decent fuel economy, good fishing platform, and enough room for an overnighter. The only thing I wish: 4 more inches of length across the whole vberth... I'm designated to one side so that my feet don't hang off! It's not really a big deal.
