Hello Everyone, I am a new owner of a 88 Sea Ray Seville. This is a cabin cruiser and my first boat purchase as well. I boat on the Ohio River and have already had a blast!. Overall this boat is in very very good condition, and the motor and outdrive have both been completely gone through before I purchased it.

The only thing i dont like so far is the seating arrangement on this boat, and was curious if anyone has found any alternatives other than folding chairs lol.

It just has a bench seat behind the driver and a big open area behind the bench seat. It would be perfect for a bench seat or something back there but the engine cover is back there too and it covers almost the whole back area.

If you have any ideas they are surely welcome! :)

I made a bench seat for my 21' Seville that simply lifts off of the mounts and goes along the transom - I left it a little short to be able to get in without steping over it - Works great - i will get some pics up shortly.
Funny you should mention the folding chairs, That's what the PO had in mine. My rear facing seat was missing when I got it (not comfortable anyways) There is now storage under ther now.

OK, Here are a few pictures. It measures approxamately 13" X 54" and uses 3/4" thick treated plywood for the botom, 3" foam and I use marine grade vinyl for the top - Sewed up a cover, Stretched it over the foam and stapled it on. I made the brackets out of aluminum and used stainless screws to attach to the seat and to the transom. I wraped fuzzy side velcro on the brackets to avoid scratching the boat when removing or re-installing the seat. I used 1" PVC Sch 40 for the legs with a cap screwed to the bottom of the seat and a cap on the other end to finish it off. I have 3 legs and 3 brackets and it will hold 3 people easily.

Works great - Little low but usually the kids sit back there. Sometimes the wife. My boat didn't come with the rear facing slide out bench but they were uncomfortable because the back leaned into you and pushed you forward. I really like how mine turned out. Probably not for everyone but just an option.
