We made a couple of different size parallelogram Trim Tabs for SeaRay over the years. The idea was to match the angle of the transom so they would not throw spray. The "unhinged" parts of the modified Tabs may also be causing spray too.
We can likely reproduce them, but we would need exact measurements to identify the SeaRay print to manufacture it from. We cannot make "one off" or custom Tabs. There is a slight chance we made a larger span (side to side) one for SeaRay at some point that we could possibly make, but we will have to search the files to see if we did. Can't guaranty this though.
If you can get exact measurements off the old one, we can start looking into the possibility of a larger one, (this could take some time).
We've been looking into the possibility of larger Tabs for your boat and would like you to see if you can look in any manuals you may have or contact SeaRay customer service and see if the Trim Tab "kit" used on your year and model is one of the following numbers and let us know which one.
I found the part number in the manual to be 298737 trim tab assembly 12 x 12 SGL ACT PARA
haven't been able to get to the boat, got a new job and have to go for training for the next two weeks
Number for the inboard powered boat is 725937 from tab assembly 12 x 18 SGL ACT
I don't know if the transom are the same? But I do like my modified 12 x 18 handling and planing capability, I also put 2 inch fins on them
The 24 x 12 seems to be the only size we have drawings for other than the originals. Also looking at the picture with the drop fins on yours they aren't in line with the parallelogram and are probably going through the water at an angle, adding to the spray issue.
Do you have a photo from farther back showing both out drives?
A dock neighbor of mine made these for me but I didn't notice they were offset until I attached them. I did try to offset them as much as I could trying not to get them to far away from the transom. It looks like I'll probably just have to start from scratch, it's a learning process.
