Onan Diesel Generator Fault Code - No 12 High AC Voltage

Anyone have experience with this fault code?

I have been getting this fault code randomly which shuts the generator down. The manual states...

High AC Voltage - Code No. 12
(After voltage regulation was enabled Output Voltage jumped to more than 125% of rated for 75 milliseconds or to more than 115% of rated for 3 seconds) less than 90% of rated for 5 seconds)

I have a 2007 13.5MDKBN-4568C

I read the service manual (I have same unit)- not much help.
Circuit breaker tripping under load
Air bubbles in fuel - Can disrupt set frequency/voltage.
Slip Ring - I didn't think these generators had slip rings and brushes.
Rotor windings
Stator windings

Have you measured actual voltage - real overvoltage problem or issue with controller?

I found the service manual and read that same info this afternoon.

Agree, for a service manual it didn’t help a lot. Google didn’t find much either…

I will have to check the output voltage…Maybe fuel filter change. Seems unlikely
but easy if it works.
