My lower unit is due for service. Last year, I had the upper pulled, alignment checked, and everything greased up. How often do you need to pull the upper for maintenance? Freshwater only and summertime only use.

What drive is it in specific?

I would say AT LEAST every 3 years... realistically, you could go longer... especially since you're in fresh water. There is absolutely no reason to do it every season.

I assume you had the bellows done? If you used Merc bellows - those are most likely good for at least 10 years (but visually check them every year).

I pull my alpha every 3rd year, also replaced the water pump impeller.
