So my port motor (7.4) continues to overheat. Changed impeller, new thermostat, new circulating pump. Something else that is strange is I do not get hot water from the engine any longer. Could the water heater interfere with circulation and therefor create overheating? Thanks for any insight.

Are you missing any pieces of your impeller? Seems to me that you have something blocking the flow of your raw water...

Does sound like a blockage in the cooling system. Impellar vane? Rust?

Dont know about the "no hot water"...does sound like a block.

But, my boat is also a 1995 and I have had to replace both heat exchangers.
One yesterday and the other two years ago.

Pressurize the system with an auto coolent system tester. Pump up to no more than 13-14psi.
You can also test your caps while you have the pump.
Many auto part stores have a free tool loan program.
Easy check once you have the tool.
