Was at $10k for weeks, but just jumped to $100k after the Coast Guard took some potential bidders out on a trip to visit it.

Wouldn't that be something to own?!!

Very cool place, but after skimming the bid documents, It’s hard to believe they actually have about 5 bidders competing when you consider……..
-You would not own the submerged land under the lighthouse – (who owns and repairs the foundation?)
-You must repair and or restore the place to historic preservation guidelines. This work that you agree to as a condition of the sale can only be done using materials and methods they approve of.
-The coast guard can come on the premises at any time to service the aids to navigation, but you must maintain the access (ladder and stairs) for them.
Sounds to me like they want a fool to buy it, fix it, restore it and maintain it for them.
