problematic throttle

I have a 2006 sundeck 220. The throttle will only go about half way forward and will not go in reverse. If you push the button to disengage the prop the lever will go in neutral and reverse but the boat will go forward. I disconnected the cable and the throttle acts the same. Any one know whats up? How do you take the throttle box out? Alpha 1 drive and this happened while out on the water just after throttling down for large waves.

My brother took the throttle box apart and it had a phillips drill driver bit left in it from a previous mechanic. It got wedged under some linkage and caused the problem. How much do those mechanics make? As far as I'm concerned he owes me....

You didn't say which pwr./drive you have but I'll take a stab at it. You have a bravo III drive and somebody shifted the drive without the eng. running and the cable became disconnected and now it is stuck in forward.
