Purchase new fuel tank

Just purchase my 1988 24' Laguna .When I added fuel to the tank I realized there was a small hole in the tank.I removed the tank and it had three or four spots that was corroded and looked like could leak later.I called Sea Ray and they said Florida Marine Tanks is who they use to build their replacement tanks.I went ahead and ordered the tank.They had the tank number in their records ,so they knew the exact tank.It was 1,200,00 plus shipping.(ouch)
Does this sound like a reasonable price? and has anyone ever bought a tank from them?

I've heard $5- $7 per gallon for custom tanks.
Be sure to get several quotes. No reason you have to use the OEM manufacturer, all you need are the tank dimensions for a quote.

If you're going to foam in the tank, be sure to use a two-part epoxy coating (coal tar or Interprotect 2000) to coat the tank before installing and a quality two-part closed-cell foam.
