Hello all!

My wife and I want to put an offer in on an '85 Seville Bow Rider. The boat seems in decent shape for it's age. The guy that owned it has done things like redo the floor (took out the ski storage) and recarpeted. He put in new ribs when he did the floor. The engine has several new parts - new water pump, impeller, etc. Trailer is in good condition.

The exterior needs some attention - mainly cosmetic. Shows signs of rough docking. The engine is the 470. He says that when hot it has some issues idling. The carb was rebuilt but he said something that the passages may still need to be worked on - not sure what he meant by that. The engine has been winterized and hasn't been on on the water this year as he bought a new boat this year.

Any thoughts on this or if it sounds like a decent purchase.

Thanks in advance for any help!

Tony

I can't really say one way or the other about buying this boat, but do a search on the 470 over on the iboats.com forum. I was looking into them a year or two ago, and it seems that they have "issues". I don't know this from personal experience, I was just going by what I had read over there.
