Raymarine 790depth chart plotter "Range

'I bought a 290 Dancer that was fitted with the Raymarine 790 Chart Plotter, I just added the C-map chip and things work well. The only prolblem I have is with the range. WHen I zoom down to Under 3.5 nm I get the grid screen with my boat and waypoints but no chart and a message that says there is no chart data. If I zoom back out everything reloads and is fine. I have downloaded the book but so far no luck. I expected to be able to zoom down to get better resolution relaitve to boat position , markers and a channel that I do now. What am I doing wrong , or did I buy the wrong chip. Can someone with more experience give me some guidance?

Hi - my boat had a RM 760 when i purchased it and it does the same thing. I came to the conclusion that it doesn't have the capabilities to zoom in past a certain point. I purchased a Garmin hand held unit and interfaced it with my laptop, then added a 15 inch daylight viewable monitor. That set up zooms in to an unbelievable level and has a more detailed chart than the C-Maps. I now use the 760 as a back up to the Garmin.
