I am buying a boat that was repo'd and shipped from its original location to the current marina. In order to ship the boat, someone removed the radar radone, RD218 Radome Radar Scanner . When I looked at the cable on the radar arch there were no plugs on the end of the wires, all of the wires were stripped at the end. I opened up the unit but couldnt see how these wires were attached.

I did some research on the internet and it appears that 3 wires are for power and have an attachment point, the remaining wires should be attached to a plug that gets plugged into the scanner. Can the wires be reattached to the plug? Is this repairable? I am not even sure if the plug is still there.. Although if the idiot that removed the cable, simply yanked them out of the plug, then it may still be there.

I tried to find a replacement cable, and only found listings for extension cables. Is this the same thing?

Any advise would be helpful.. My next step is to try to call Raymarine directly...

Follow the same link you provided to the user manual- page 15 has the inter-unit cable connections and shows their locations under the protective cover.

If the plug is still there and nothing's been damaged (though yanking wires out would sure make that unlikely) you could try to re-attach the plug per the wiring schematic on page 18. If the plug's not there perhaps RM can send you one.

Thanks for the pointing that out. I actually downloaded that manual and looked through it, but didnt see the wire diagram in it. That helps. I guess I will try to fix the cable once I get the boat home.
