This happenned once before. I was at sea and cut my engines to fish. After turning everything back on, the SmartCraft came on and then turned off! Once back to the slip, and after a few hours, I was able to manually turn it on. Any Ideas?

Are you talking about the SC5000 System View plus gauges, or the SR equivalents of the SC1000 Tach and speedo?
Smartcraft is a data network system where all of the brains reside in the ECM on the engine(s). For example the RPM display on the SC5000 and Tachometer are both displaying the same data stream coming up a single trunk line (a CAN cable) from the engine(s) to a junction box and then spider harnesses feeding the SC5000 and gauges
So the only way for Smartcraft to be really shut off would be with the engine ignition off (or the ECM dead. In which case the engine would not run).
So what you are describing as shut off may be an interruption in the data stream.
If the SC5000 is the only thing that is shutting down, and the gauges still function, the issue may be in the connection of the SC5000. Or of course it may be be a faulty SC5000.
If you lose gauges and SC5000 it still can be the SC5000 only (as some guage packages are run off the SC5000), or it may be an interruption in the circuit between the engine room and the helm. In the case of twin engines, loss of a single engine data stream would be caused by interruption between the engine harness and CAN trunk line. Loss of both engine data suggests interruption between where the two engines join the CAN.
This is pretty basic, but complicated in that there are a lot of things to check. You can check a lot of this yourself as it is a case of just looking at the plugs and checking the condition of the terminals.
