smx 11 ac fault

hi guys brought searay sundancer da 24 2004 back from us to uk my ac smells of buring smell when put on my smx control pannel tells me i can change the voltage is that only the pannel or does that change the air con motor as well its a cruisair unit my volatage here is 230 v not 110v dont want fire in my new toy any idears what can be done plus were is the motor and how do i get to it
