i know it's in neutral but i don't get anything when i turn the key. mess around a little with the shifter and turn the key and then it starts. shift cable was just replaced...since there isn't any sound from anything i'm thinking it's the ignition switch....whattayah think?

if the shift cable was just replaced, I would start with things than can becaused by that. The cable is probably very slighly mis-adjusted. It more than likely needs a turn or two to make sure the neutral safety switch is depressed.

nope! not even a click..not a try not a nothing..kind of like when the shifter isn't in neutral..but we are kinda wondering if it's the ignition switch like i said unless we are thinking wrong..idk?

Check out what Chris said above. Did you pay someone to replace the shift cable? If so, have them adjust it. It's not a hard thing to do, though.

Try jumping past the neutral switch on the linkage with a jumper wire. If it starts then you know. The new owner of my boat is having a similar problem. I will be curious as to what you discover.

i'll let you know Sprink...it may be a couple days before i get back to it for now..i teach and school isn't out yet in philly..by the weekend though you'll know..thanks!
