I had a problem with the alternator noise on my system, but it was only when I was using the Sirius radio, the CD would work fine. This being the case it ruled out my Base unit and all of my amplifier components as well as wiring. I had a RayMarine Sirius Weather option installed in my boat, and that unit is also the receiver for my Sirius radio. This box was installed behind my gauges at the helm station. To correct the noise issue I re-routed the RCA cable that comes from the RayMarine SR50 unit to the aux jacks of my stereo. It did not take much to clear the cable from existing wiring, but the cable did need to be routed by itself and not with any of the wires going up to the helm.
