I have a 2005 320 Sundancer. Does anyone know how to remove the bulkhead television?

I need to replace the television with one that has an ATSC/digital tuner. Any recommendations on 23 inch replacement television?

Thanks

Do a search (top right on CSR screen) on TV modifications. Lots of posts! you will have to check through some threads to find your specific model/year. Good luck!

Unfortunately, none of the posts under TV modifications address the issue of television removal. My Marine Max dealer does not have the answer.

I have a 2007 320DA that I changed out the analog tv for a digital. Mine has an upholstered frame around it that needed to be removed first. As I remember there are a couple of covered plugs in each top corner that need to be removed. That will acccess a couple of screws that you will need to take out. I don't remember if there were screws in the bottom corners. I also think there was an electrical connection to a switch in the frame that will just unplug so you can lay the frame down on the berth.

Once you have the frame off there are a couple of screws in the bottom of the wall mount that you will need to remove and then the tv should lift straight up off the mount.

Unplug the tv and coax, swap the mount on the tv's and put it all back together.

I don't know if this is the same as yours but it might help!!

Thanks Rick. Mine also has an upholstered frame as you describe. I will use your information and tackle the job tomorrow. Again, thank you.

I have managed to remove the analog bulkhead TV and replace it with a digital unit. Removal information is as follows:

1. You must first remove the TV muff (upholstered frame around TV). Two bottom screws to muff are located under glued screw caps. You must pull these screw covers off first.
2. When bottom of muff is unscrewed, it will swing out enough to allow you to unscrew two top muff screws which are located on the inside top of TV muff.
3. Remove TV muff.
4. Remove two locking screws from TV mount located behind TV and on the underside of mount.
5. Lift TV up to slide out of mount
6. Unplug wires from TV set

You will most likely need to change out the TV power cord as the old power cord will not fit the input to your new TV. Power cord runs through bulkhead into a 110 volt power outlet which is located inside the 12 volt Main Distribution Panel. You must take the 12 volt panel cover off to access this power outlet.

You will also need to re-position the TV mount on the bulkhead slightly as the size of the new TV and mount location on the TV will be different than the old TV.

The old TV is a Zenith 23 inch model. The only TVs that will fit inside the TV muff without modification to the TV muff are a 23 inch Samsung and a 25 inch Hannspree. I elected to install a 26 inch Vizio which required me to enlarge the width of the TV muff cutout by 2 inches. The height of the TV muff was okay.

I'm now back in business!
