Before I take the plunge and buy a trailer for my boat I thought I would see if anyone in the Cincinnati area has a trailer they'd be willing to rent on a couple occassions during the year?

I'd draft up a rental agreement that spells out all of the terms regarding insurance, damage etc, and would pay in advance.

I'm hoping to find someone in the area that keeps their boat in a slip and would have a trailer suitable for trailering my 290 without any modifications.

For those of you not familar with the 290, its probably just about 10000lbs, 31' LOA and 9.5 beam.

No rollers. Anyone?

Very smart!

Thanks! Let's hope it works. I think I'm going to post something down at the marina on the river by the Sea Ray dealer.

I haven't had any luck with local boat haulers and none of my dealers are interested in renting out their trailers. I figure private owner is the way to go if I can find someone. Heck, if I owned one I'd love to rent it out for a couple hundred bucks a weekend. What would you all think would be a fair price? $50 a day friday through monday?? More? Less?

I didn't purchase a trailer with mine and have been giving that very thing some thought. Remember that trailers are not huge ticket items...I expected to offer $75 for 24 hours, $150 for a Friday pickup to Monday drop off, and $250 for a full week. In this area, I think that would be gravy money at the marina where trailers just sit and rust anyway.

I didn’t purchase a trailer with mine, I would like to meet up with friends 1-2 times during the summer on the bay side of the cape, were on Nantucket sound, my wife checked with a local hauler and for $80.00 they will trailer it from one side of the cape to the other. It would cost a lot more in fuel or a new trailer.

I will probably buy a new trailer next year for maintenance purposes but for the couple of times this year I’ll pay someone to trailer it.

i would love to ind one right now as well I am in the chicagoland area..

Be very very careful the first time you trailer the boat. The location of your through hulls may vary and you can easily crush or remove one if you are not careful.
